EIWAA provides load testing, inspection, and certification for grab buckets and cargo grabs attached to cranes for bulk cargo handling activities. The cargo grab must be mechanically and structurally stable, maintain structural integrity throughout handling operations, and comply with safety standards, port regulations, and ship classification guidelines in order to prevent structural damage and fallen loads. Grab buckets are fixed to the lifting apparatus of port conveyors, handling units, transshipment ships, offshore bulk carriers, floating cranes, and FPSOs.

GRAB BUCKET INSPECTION AND MAINTENANCE IN QATAR
Structural inspections are performed on the grab bucket’s bucket shells, lip edge, side plates, lifting lugs, guiding rollers, and other significant joints. Hydraulic inspection, repair, and maintenance are the key priorities of grab bucket maintenance. Nondestructive testing, magnetic particle inspection, ultrasonic testing, and eddy current testing will be employed for inspection and NDE evaluation, while welding will be utilized for maintenance and repair. The mechanical and electrical inspection of cargo grab buckets includes opening/closing systems, hydraulic systems, electrical components, locking mechanisms, and limit switches.
