BOLLARD PULL TESTING IN OMAN
Finding the maximum static pulling force a tugboat can generate is known as “bollard pull testing.” An essential procedure for evaluating a tugboat’s performance and pulling capacity is bollard pull testing. Attaching the tugboat to a stationary bollard on land or on a specially designed test rig, then pulling as forcefully as you can against the bollard, is known as the bollard pull test. The actual pulling capacity of the tugboat can be evaluated under controlled conditions.

FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS
Mooring Bollard Load Testing is approved by all major ports of Oman to ensure the safe integrity assessment of bollards.
Bollard pull testing is performed to determine the maximum static force that a tugboat can generate; the dynamometer load cell and lifting attachments are used to measure this force, which is then stated in BHP.
To guarantee the safe mooring of equipment, mooring bollards at ports and yards are tested by portable test bed arrangements and lifting accessories at proof load capacity.
Equipment is classified into Zones 0, 1, and 2.
