Bollard Load Testing
EIWAA Marine Services offers Anchor bolt pull Test, Bollard Pull Testing services and mooring Bollard Load Testing inspection services at major ports of oman. The purpose of mooring bollard load testing services is to assess the structural integrity of bollards by using a portable test bed, either with or without the assistance of tugboat arrangements. For ships and boats to be safely moored in major ports of Oman, mooring bollards are essential. We have demonstrated experience in bollard testing and certification at a number of Oman ports, including Port of Duqm, Port of Salalah,Port of Sohar and others.NDT Inspection Service, laser measurement services, proof load testing inspection, total station survey and other services are included in the scope of mooring bollard load testing services.
We can mobilize quickly anywhere in the world to provide mooring bollard load testing services by using portable mooring bollard test bed arrangements without the need for tugs or vessels. We can also confirm the integrity of the entire mooring bollard assembly including the body, anchor bolts, anchors, and surrounding/concrete structure. In order to reduce port accidents, we uses a portable bollard pull test assembly with a capacity of up to 200T.All types of marine mooring bollards including different capacities of A-Type, B-Type, C-Type, D & E Type, and Cast Iron/Ductile type mooring bollards shall subject to periodic inspection and SWL/Proof Load testing inspection.

Importance of Portable Mooring Bollard Testing at Shipyards and Ports
The safe structural integrity of bollards is confirmed by mooring bollard testing and certification by Portable testing equipment (Up to 200 Ton) in ports, shipyards, jetties, and yards. The testing and certification process for shipyard bollards in the mooring direction includes failure analyses of the mooring bollard body, mooring bollard cylinder and mooring bollard anchor bolt.

Frequently Asked Questions
Mooring Bollard Load Testing is approved by all major ports of Oman to ensure the safe integrity assessment of bollards.
The structural assessment and safe working load (SWL) testing of bollards through portable test bed assembly at yards and jetties is known as bollard load testing service. The Bollard Pull Test involves dragging the tugboat up against the Mooring bollard at the Quay wall area and measuring the load by using a dynamometer load cell to determine the engine horsepower or BHP of the vessel.
The steps for testing bolts are to remove the grout and nuts, pull testing the bolt by 110% of its SWL and use NDT testing to determine the condition. Replacing the damaged components, reinstalling the grout and nuts, painting, etc.
The mooring bollards and the area surrounding the quay wall require a comprehensive inspection as part of the periodic berth equipment inspection. This inspection should include NDT inspection ,bollard load testing, deflection measurement, condition monitoring of the bollards, concrete and anchor bolt.
