WELDING PROCEDURE QUALIFICATION IN OMAN
For oil and gas, marine, and construction industries in Oman, EIWAA Marine provides WPS PQR qualification services to ensure that the welding quality and soundness meet the standards of welding competency, welding safety, and welding project requirements. The international welding requirements of ASME Section IX, AWS D1.1, and ISO 15614 are met by your welding procedure specifications (WPS) and process qualification records (PQR), in recognition of the efforts of our trained welding engineers. Our weld testing and third-party welding documentation services assist you in meeting quality compliance and sound welding integrity when working on offshore and pipe welding projects. All major ship classification standards of ABS, BV, Lloyd’s Register, RINA, and DNV are satisfied by our qualified welding procedure specification, Procedure Qualification Records, and third-party welder qualification services in the shipbuilding industry.
In compliance with the welding regulations and standards of ASME Section IX, AWS D1.1, ISO 15614, and API 1104, we assist fabrication companies, shipyards, offshore contractors, and construction organizations in qualifying Welding Procedure Specifications (WPS) and Procedure Qualification Records (PQR). Throughout the welding procedure qualification process, our skilled welding inspectors, welding engineers, and welding consultants provide comprehensive welding consultancy services, including mechanical testing, test coupon preparation, welding map preparation, and coordination with third-party or classification authorities like DNV, ABS, BV, and Lloyd’s Register.
- Oil & Gas: Qualification for pressure vessel and pipeline welding
- Construction: Structural steel welding and bridge fabrication
- Marine & Offshore: Class-approved welding techniques and procedure qualification records for hull, deck, and piping
- Manufacturing & Fabrication: WPS/PQR configuration for workshops and production facilities
- Energy & Utilities: Equipment welding compliance and power plant maintenance
PROCEDURE QUALIFICATION RECORD IN OMAN
In addition to mechanical tests, radiographic tests, and welding process specifications (WPS), EIWAA offers welding procedure qualification records (PQR). Tensile tests, bend tests, Charpy V-notch impact tests, macro exams, hardness tests, and fracture tests of different butt and fillet welds comprise the mechanical test records. 1G, 2G, 3G, 4G, 5G, and 6G are the butt-welding positions. 1F, 2F, 3F, and 4F are the fillet welding locations. Depending on the base materials, welding positions, and welding code/standards, acceptable NDT inspection and testing for certifying different butt weld positions include radiography (X-ray/gamma ray), magnetic particle inspection, dye penetrant test, and ultrasonic scanning test.
P-Number, F-Number, A-Number, Material, and PWHT are the fundamental variables for the Procedure Qualification Record (PQR), which cannot be changed. Group Number is an additional essential variable. To qualify PQR and WPS, welding codes and standards must be,
- AWS D1.1 : Carbon Steel Structural Welding Code
- AWS D1.2: Aluminum Structural Welding Code
- AWS D1.3/D1.4/D1.6: Sheet metal, stainless steel, and reinforcing steel welding codes
- AWS B2.1: Welding procedure (WPS) and welder performance qualification (WPQ) requirements and techniques
- EN15614: Welders' qualifications and WPS qualifications • ASME SEC IX: Brazing and Welding Qualifications used in pressure vessels and pipes
- ISO 9606: Qualification for Welder Performance
- ISO 15614: Welding Procedure Specification and Qualification, Procedure Qualification for Metallic Materials.
- DNV-OS-C401: DNV Fabrication and Welding Regulations
- BV NR 426: Welding and fabrication standards • ABS Welding Rules: ABS Rules for materials and welding
Our WPS and PQR certification services guarantee that your welding operations satisfy clients, project, and code requirements whether you’re building pipelines, structural steel, ship components, or offshore modules.
