3D SCANNING BOW THRUSTER RETROFIT IN OMAN

Installing a bow thruster requires precise measurements, structural validation, and a precise alignment survey with respect to the geometry of the vessel. We provide extensive engineering to guarantee bow thruster integration in ships, vessels, and offshore rigs with our 3D scanning, laser measurements, and modeling. We perform 3D surveys to obtain the complete geometry of the bow tunnel, hull structure, interior compartments, and machinery spaces utilizing terrestrial laser scanners and portable 3D scanners. Prior to drydocking, our naval architects and design engineers create digital as-built models for system alignment, structural reinforcement, and thruster placement. 3D dimensional measurements of internal frame, hull curvature, and available space are necessary for an appropriate retrofitting solution of bow thruster installation to an existing ship or offshore unit.

To ensure a precise retrofit, we sent an expert to the ship’s position offshore to perform a 3D scan of the old tail shaft and the fixed propeller cone. The scanned data can be used to identify any geometrical irregularities within the propeller cone. Using the 3D scanning data, the ship repair company produces the new tail shaft’s cone to the exact final specifications. The fixed propeller won’t need to be brought into the workshop because we will do a virtual, blue-fit test utilizing 3D scanning data. We can manufacture the new tail shaft, and have it installed immediately if the measurements are correct. For all vessel types involved in bow thruster retrofit and its reverse engineering, we provide as-built 3D scanning data, CAD models, and class-approved paperwork, such as:

REVERSE ENGINEERING OF BOW THRUSTER PROPULSION IN OMAN

When the original documentation for bow thruster propulsion systems is out-of-date or absent, reverse engineering is required. Through precise reverse engineering measurements using 3D laser scanners and hand scanners, our reverse engineering services and experts enable shipowners and OEMs to regenerate CAD models of bow thruster components, support structures, or full systems. Our experts use LiDAR scanning, 3D modeling, and 3D scanning to extract dimensional measurements of,

All of the reverse-engineered 3D models are digitalized using software platforms like SolidWorks, Autodesk Inventor, AutoCAD, and Revit and are utilized for replacement, repair, changes, refurbishing, manufacturing, design upgrades, or maintenance planning.
