Pressure Testing Services
The EIWAA Oil and Gas Services provides pressure testing services in Oman for a variety of items including manifolds, air compressors, pressure vessels and pipelines. Pressure Testing Services shall be Hydro testing services and pneumatic Testing. Pneumatic testing is done to confirm that a system can safely be operated at its maximum pressure by pushing it over the pressure limit that was intended for it. In pneumatic testing services, air or an inert gas medium like nitrogen is used.
Hydro Testing Service
The hydro test, also known as the hydrostatic test, is a pressure test used to demonstrate the integrity of a pressure vessel using a liquid medium. Clean, fresh water or treated fluid is typically used in flushing or hydrostatic testing operations. When appropriate, a suitable corrosion inhibitor, chloride-controlled water, combination, or mixture of these is employed to guard against damage from water’s negative effects on the pressure vessel material used in its product service. A hydrostatic test involves applying pressure to a pipe or other component in order to assess its integrity. The structural integrity of pipelines and other pressure-containing infrastructure is assessed using this test.
The main technique for checking for leaks and evaluating the structural soundness of boilers, meter skids, compressed gas cylinders, pipelines, tubing, and other pressurized containers is hydrostatic testing. In hydro testing services, a pressure of 1.5 times the MAWP is used for pressure vessels constructed in accordance with ASME Sec. VIII Div. I year 1999 editions or before. Any vessel built after 1999 is subject to a hydrotest pressure that is 1.3 times the maximum allowed working pressure or MAWP.

Mark off the areas to be hydro tested with hazard signs and tigger tape. Hydro testing system components against a closed valve is not a good idea. Keep a minimum 3 meters (m)distance between the vessel and any extra fittings (flanges, couplings) while the hydro test pressure is being built. When hydro testing big vessels, consider the use of an appropriate wetting solution to remove air pockets and surface tension.
