GANGWAY LOAD TESTING IN UAE
To get the periodic survey, annual and 5-yearly load testing inspection and certification of ships’ gangways, accommodation ladders, pilot ladders, Billy Pugh, personnel transfer baskets, suspension systems, offshore platforms, and landing surfaces, EIWAA is the right choice for third-party services. Handrails, stanchions, steps, walkways, storage securing arrangements, and truss assemblies are being tested by calibrated water weights as per ship classification rules of SOLAS, LR, ABS, BV, NK, and DNV. Our pre-inspection methodology includes a thorough visual examination and health check of steps, walkways, handrails, davit arms, winch and wire rope, platform hinges and pins, and welds. Ship classification rules, SOLAS, LEEA, and LOLER cover the scope of,
- SOLAS Chapter II: Specifies the requirements of structural integrity, periodic inspection, regular survey, load testing inspection, and certification in shipboard access equipment.
- IMO MSC1/Circ.1331: Specifies the requirements and methods of construction, maintenance, load testing, inspection, and certification of accommodation ladders and gangways onboard ships and vessels.
- IMO Resolution A.1045(27) specifies the safety requirements of pilot ladders and pilot transfer arrangements.
- ILO Convention No. 133: Specifies the requirements and methods of construction, maintenance, load testing, inspection, and certification of pilot ladders and gangways.
- DNV-ST-0378: Covers the scope of load testing of access equipment like gangways, accommodation ladders, pilot ladders, offshore personnel transfers, and platforms by calibrated water bags, sausage bags, and solid test weights.
- Class NK/ABS/LR: Covers the scope of load testing of all access equipment of personnel transfer baskets and accommodation ladders.
ACCOMMODATION LADDER LOAD TEST
EIWAA performs the annual/periodic/5-yearly load testing inspection and certification of accommodation ladders or other critical access systems at SWL or proof load capacity by calibrated water bags or solid test weights. We are certifying the Billy Pugh, or personnel transfer basket, by load testing inspection every 6 months or 1 year at anchorages, offshore and marine ports. Our ship classification rules-approved inspection engineers verify the structural integrity, weld joints, flooring, rigging, and slinging by calibrated test weights, dynamometer load cells, pull testing equipment, etc., as per SOLAS and ship classification rules.
