CARGO GEAR LOAD TESTING IN UAE
EIWAA is a marine service provider for 3rd party inspection services for cargo gear load testing and ship cargo gear survey services approved by major marine classification societies of ABS, NK, RINA, BV, LR, and DNV. Cargo gear inspection and testing services are very crucial for safe operations of lifting equipment, lifting gears, and lifting appliances. As a certified service supplier of major ship classification societies in the UAE, our competent lifting inspection engineers perform annual thorough examinations, periodic inspections, load testing, and certification of cargo gears and appliances in ships and vessels. Flag state requirements and regulations are strictly followed by EIWAA onboard testing engineers using calibrated water bags, water weights, lifting beams, slings, shackles, and grommets for cargo gear load testing and certifications.
Cargo gear load testing shall be performed by stages of installations, annual thorough examinations, periodic inspection, SWL verification by load testing, proof load testing, and intermediate/visual inspection requirements. Ship classification rules and flag state regulations of cargo gear load testing and survey are as follows:
- DNV ST-0377: Specifies shipboard lifting appliances and cargo gear survey of testing, examination, thorough inspection, etc. for load handling devices and loose gears. Requirements and methods cover test load, load chart, incremental changes, and lifting appliance inspection and certifications.
- IMO and SOLAS Regulation II-I/3-13: Specifies the safety requirements for onboard lifting appliances and loose lifting gear in ships and vessels.
- RINA Rules REP. 1/E Part A: Rules for the classification of ship-part A specifies classification and survey requirements of cargo gears, cargo handling equipment's requirements, and its requirements of inspection/testing of structural parts and its assemblies.
- LR Codes Part 3, Ch 9, Section 6: Lloyd's Register code for lifting appliances in marine environments for cranes, derricks, winches, and cargo gear for inspection, testing, and certifications.
